MINISCALE – integrated optical measuring system
SCHNEEBERGER did now a further milestone in the direction of miniaturization.
MINISCALE – the world’s first miniature guideway with an integrated optical measuring system.
MINISCALE is based on a product that has been available on the market for many years – MINIRAIL.
To equip MINIRAIL with the additional measuring function, a scale (40 µm interval) is laser engraved into the top surface of the rail and a miniature sensor is integrated into the carriage.
The benefits of the product are quite clear: simple and convenient, assembly and disassembly, compared to separate measuring systems, leads to reduced time and costs of installation and set-up. Also, as the measuring function is integrated into the guide, more compact machine designs are possible.
